The Halifax 'family tree'
Founded in 1853, the Halifax is one of the UK's best known companies and has enjoyed phenomenal growth over the course of its 150 year history.
In the latter years of the 20th century, it made a number of notable acquisitions, including Clerical Medical and Birmingham Midshires. These remain some of the key brands of HBOS plc today.
