Sponsorship in Yorkshire

Since 2007, Halifax has sponsored a number of Yorkshire based sports and arts organisations. The aim is to create exciting new opportunities for young people in Yorkshire to access sport and the arts.

The July Project

Halifax are title sponsors of The July Project. Delivered in conjunction with Eureka! and Square Chapel, The July Project is a two week festival of activities for young people in Halifax and Calderdale.  In 2007, over 5,000 young people took part in the festival.  In 2008, over 7,000 young people are expected to get involved.

NOEL Singing for Fun

Halifax have enabled NOEL (Northern Orchestral Enterprises Ltd) to expand their Singing for Fun Groups to eight Halifax primary schools, reaching over 600 children. Groups take part in a year round programme of singing sessions.  All the groups come together for a Singing for Fun Festival at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax in June.

Halifax Athletics

In partnership with Calderdale Council, Halifax have supported a programme of introductory athletics for primary school children at the Spring Hall facility in Halifax.  Over 430 children from 14 schools will take part.

Northern Ballet

Northern Ballet deliver 'Dancition', a series of workshops for primary and secondary schools across Calderdale.  Halifax have supported this programme as well as a series of theatre visits where children can go backstage, then see a performance.  Over 800 young people have taken part in the workshops and theatre visits.
