Lapsed rights
In connection with the HBOS plc rights Issue, where we did not receive an instruction from you to take up all or some of the Rights prior to the deadline of 11.00 a.m. on 18 July 2008, HBOS has arranged for the shares that your Rights entitled you to buy, together with those of other shareholders, to be offered for sale on your behalf (the "Sale of Rights") by the Company’s brokers.
Please note that under the Terms and Conditions of the Offer, any premium obtained above the issue price, less expenses, will then be paid to you provided the amount is £5 or more.
The brokers did not achieve an average premium in excess of £2.75 for the new shares not taken up (taking into account expenses of sale) and therefore no payment is due to you.
