Type of shareholder
HBOS has more than two million private shareholders across the UK. This is the biggest private shareholder base in the country. Most private shareholders have held their shares since the demutualisation of the Halifax in 1997.
HBOS private shareholders (non certificated)
Over 1.4m HBOS private shareholders hold their shares through the HBOS Shareholder Account (a nominee account), as a customer of Halifax Share Dealing or in the HBOS Share ISA. Only these shareholders will receive a Form of Election.
Certificated shareholders (certificated)
Approximately 640,000 shareholders who have share certificates. Provisional Allotment Letters (PAL) will be issued to all these shareholders.
